Billy Sanford

I have been in the insurance industry since 1993. My first insurance related job was with a large insurance company, so I’m familiar with how things work on the company side – and I think that’s been beneficial in helping me advocate for our clients.

I am licensed in property/casualty and life/health and am also a licensed claims adjuster. I started The Sanford Group in 2001 and have been tremendously blessed to have worked with some truly outstanding people like Louise, Sarah, and Tiffany.

I am honored by the trust our long-time clients place in us, and I am very grateful for each of them.
I am a former Marine Corps Officer, and my son is currently an active duty Marine stationed in California. My daughter is a former college athlete and has been a nurse at Northside Cherokee for 2 years. I am very proud of them both. I was married to their mother – the love of my life – for 27 years before we lost her to a 3-year cancer battle in 2019. I love spending time with my kids, and I am also a high school cross country coach for a local private high school, which I enjoy very much.

Favorite season: football weather on a perfect autumn day. GO DAWGS! (proud UGA alumni, BBA Risk Management/Insurance 1988).

Favorite movie/book: Papillion – an early 70s McQueen/Hoffman classic. I loved reading Lonesome Dove for fun, and treasure anything by C.S. Lewis.

Favorite vacation spot: so far, it has been the Virgin Islands. Just beautiful and so relaxing
